Keralites prefer to have a garden in front of their homes.  You will see a variety of plants and trees around every homes.  People living in flats and apartments keep large potted plants.  Recently many cities of Kerala has roof top gardens filled with decorative plants and kitchen gardens.  Some of the commonly seen decorative plants are as below.
