Kerala is fully covered with roads of all sizes. Another major mode of transport is the Railways. There are more than 200 stations in Kerala from where you could board a train to reach any city of Kerala.
For smaller journeys you can always hire the Taxis (Yellow Taxis and Tourist taxis) locally available at all road junctions. For much smaller transport, there are plenty of Auto Rickshaws (3 wheelers) available in most roads.
For luxurious group trips (about 50 people), we suggest you to rent Luxury coaches which will be fitted with drinking water jars, video shows, music systems, Air Condition, seat top lights and fans etc.
There are few kinds of charges such as toll charges for newly constructed bridges, parking charges at some locations, entry fees and ferry charges. For off time usage there is night halt charges. Waiting charge is also another charge to pay if your taxi or autoricksaw have to wait longer periods.
Taxis Tourist taxis are also available throughout Kerala. Yellow-top taxis are available.
Rent a Car facilities are common in all big cities and district headquarters. You can get a driver driven rent a car or self driven rent a car facility.
Autorickshaws are aailable at selected stands in most towns and villages.
Major Airports of Kerala are Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. There are plans for Kannur and Pathanamthitta Airports. Kochi is the major port in Kerala from which Ships travel to nearby island of Lakshadweep.
In Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam, there are lots of Boat services to move people through the back waters.
At some part of Kerala, ferry's will be used to cross over the rivers. These ferries takes people and vehicles across rivers where the bridges are not yet constructed.
