The world's oldest Teak plantation is here. The cholanail....., the oldest oborginal tribes of Kerala live in the Nilambur forest. 4 kms from Nilambur on the side of hudallur Road is the world's forest Teak Museum. Nedumkayam5km from Malapuram 18 km from Nilamboor. The rain forests flourish at Nedumkayam, wild animals can be viewed from here. An elephant faming centre is located here. Tirur25kms from Ponnani. Tirur is famour as the birth place of Thunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, the father of Malayalam Literature. Now the birth place is called 'Thunchan parambu' is highly venerated and its san is believed to be sacred.
