Eravikulam National Park

The famous Eravikulam National Park is located near Munnar.  The park is accessible by road, just 4 km. from the Munnar- Udumalapet road. It is situated at the crest of Anamala range. It has the largest population of Nilgiri Tahr existing the world now. Other Fauna include Samba, Barking Deer, Gaur, Giant Malabar Squirrel, Tiger, Panther, Lion -Tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Wolf, Pigeon, Black Bird and Jungle Crow etc. A wide variety of plant life is available here. The rare species popularly known as Neelakurinji grows here. The season is November to April.
