About Sree Krishnaswamy Temple

This temple is built in the typical Kerala architectural style. Counted among the great temples of Kerala, the presiding deity at this temple is Lord Krishna.  It is also in this temple that Pullipana is performed by Velans once in twelve years. Human sacrifice was conducted in ancient times

The annual festival lasts for ten days. The folk-art form, Ambalapuzha Vela performed every year is the main attraction of the festival. From the seventh day, elephant processions are held in the evening.
