Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple, Alappuzha, Kerala

Processions of all decorated structures on chariots, brightly decorated effigies of horses and bullocks and cultural performances make a spectacular pageant. (Festival - February / March). The Bhadrakali deity is said to have miraculous power. The temple is abuzz with activity in the months of February and March on the occasion of Bharani. A distinctive feature of this temple, 5 Km, from Kayamkulam, is the huge oil lamp called 'Kalluuvilakku' (granite lamp), which accommodates more than a thousand wicks.
