About K. S. Chitra

With a Master of Arts in music, and 6 national awards for her songs, Chitra is Kerala's play back singer lovingly called the Kerala's Vanambadi.  Her memorable songs such as ' Sindhu Bhairavi' (Tamil in 1986),' Nakhashatangal' (Malayalam in 1987), 'Vaishali' ( Malayalam in 1989 ), Minsara Kanavu (Tamil in 1996 ), Virasat (Hindi in 1997) fetched her the coveted National Award for the best playback singer five times. With her Classical music base, she has an abaility to put to perfection the most difficult notes and her simple nature amidst all this achivements made her a favorite among the people who love music.
