Ingredients

  • Tur dal - 1/2 cup
  • Raw rice - 1/2 cup
  • Black gram dal - 1/4 cup
  • Green chillies - 8
  • Asafoetida - a small piece
  • Curry leaves - 2 stalks
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

  1. Soak the rice and the two dals in water.
  2. Drain and grind well adding the green chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida.
  3. Put salt to taste and mix well.
  4. Make small balls of it, the size of a marble.
  5. Dip your hands in water and flatten each ball with the fingers, fry to a golden brown color.
