With CPM finally agreeing to give away the Ponnani seat to CPI, now its the selection of the candidate what matters.
The turn of events was triggered after CPI threatening to field candidates on its own for other seats as well if CPM fails to allot them the Ponnani seat.
The issue which got precipitated was finally sort out with the CPM leader Prakash Karat's intervention. With a consensus reached on Ponnani, the stand off between the two allies is said to have been resolved, claims the party leaders.
