Cabinet okays 'Paloli committee' report

AJ: The Government today decided to implement the Sachar Committee report on backwardness of Muslim community, including the proposal to form a Minority Welfare Department. The decision was taken by the state cabinet which gave its approval to the proposals of the high power committee headed by Minister Paloli Muhammad Kutty, set up to study the state-level implementation of the Sachar Committee report. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said other proposals included institution of special educational scholarships for the Muslim students.
