AJ: Advertisements of medicines through media will be banned, Health Minister PK Sreemathi said. The curb will be based on the central government policy. No medicines will be sold without the permission of drugs controller,said the minister. Doctors deliberately prescribe medicines of high cost especially for cancer, infertility, kidney related diseases, etc. This will be prevented by publishing a table of medicines for related diseases, said the minister. Only two medicines can be prescribed in the OP ticket and that too by abiding the rules of World Health Organization.
