'Annan Thampi' From Today

AJ: Mammootty's vishu offer 'Annan Thampi' which will releasing today. The movie which is planned for a massive release in 75 centers will be the first ever release for many B and C centers. In Malappuram district, the movie will get released in ten centers while even in the Thiruvananthapuram district, the film will make itself available in at least six centers, in the place of usual two releasing centers.The film cripted Benny P. Nayarambalam and directed by Anwar Rasheed.'Annan Thampi' will feature Mammootty in double roles, supported by a big cast line which includes Siddhique, Lakshmi Rai, Gopika, Harishree Ashokan, Suraj Venjaramoodu ,Janardhanan, Urmila Unni, Manianpillai Raju, Siddhique, Mohan Jose, Anil Murali, Shivani and Rema Devi. Lokanathan cranks the camera for this movie. The music of the movie by Rahul Raj, set in the lines of Vayalar Sharath and Bichu Thirumala. The film produced and distributed by Marikkar films.

'Annan Thampi' postponed by three days

AJ: Mammootty's Vishu offering 'Annan Thampi' will not hit the theaters for this Vishu. The release of the movie has been postponed for another three days. Originally planned to hit the centers on April 14, the Vishu day, the movie will now be on theaters by the 17th of April. The movie which is already censored with an U certificate, still need its works on graphics to get completed. The colorful movie featuring Mammootty in double roles and in a few dance numbers, will now hit 75 centers on April 17. The movie will be the first to get released in almost all townships of the state. The trades experts are eagerly waiting for the response to this massive release strategy, which was made possible after the restrictions on releases were taken away recently.

Mammootty to raise funds for heart surgeries

AJ: Mammootty, together with his fan club is planning to raise money to support 100 heart surgeries in Kerala. The fan club of the star has joined hands with the Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital at Thiruvananthapuram to fund, at least a 100 heart surgeries this year, for the poor patients. The formal inauguration of the free heart surgery programme at NIIMS took place on the evening of last Sunday at Kochi. Mammootty will act as the brand ambassador of the programme for his fan club who will raise funds from people who are willing to contribute for the cause. Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association who is behind the venture had been the pioneer fans group behind such kinds of programs in the state. Labels: Mammootty

Actor Jagadheesh to direct Mammootty film

AJ: Actor Jagadheesh is stepping to direction. His first movie in Mollywood will feature Mammootty in the lead. Jagadheesh has already finalized the project with Mammootty and Ajaychandran Nair -the producer of 'Anandhabhadram' and 'Chotta Mumbai' has already come up to produce the project. Mammootty has insisted Jagadheesh to script the movie. Jagadheesh also adds that he is planning to create a commercial movie which will be a total hilarious entertainer.

One Way Ticket starring Prithviraj, Bhama and Mammootty as the superstar

AJ: After the unprecedented success, of 'Katha Parayumpol' , Mammootty is again playing a guest appearance in the new film 'One Way Ticket' which has Prithviraj in the lead. Mammootty will be appearing in a short cameo as super star Mammootty, in the film. The film has Prithviraj as Kunjaapoo, a Jeep driver who is an ardent fan of the star. The film will feature some scenes which will have the super star giving support to his fans who are more involved in social support activities than the promotion of the stardom. Lakshmi Rai will appear for the first time with Prithviraj in this film, which also features Jagathy, Jagadheesh, Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaramodu, Balachandran Chullikkadu and Sukumari. The shooting for 'One Way Ticket' started at Palakkad.

AJ: Amritha Film awards announced. Mammootty and Meera Jasmine won the best actor and actress award in their performances in 'Ore Kadal'. Director Lal jose's 'Arabikkatha' bagged the award for the best film, Dhakshinamoorthy was selected for a special award for his contribution to Malayalam cinema. The award for the best director goes to shyamaprasad for 'Ore Kadal'. The recipients of the other awards that were announced includes Siddhique (Supporting actor), Ramya Krishnan(supporting actress), Ouseppachan (best music director), Anil Panachooran (Best lyricist), Dr K J Yesudas (best playback singer), Shwetha (best playback singer), Pattanam Rasheed (best makeup). AJ: Meera Vasudev, who was Mohanlal's co-star in Thanmathra, is now paired up with Mammootty in Maya Bazaar. The film is directed by a newcomer, Thomas Sebastian, who has also penned the screenplay for the film.The life of laborers, who work as demolishing old vehicles, is the background of the film Maya Bazaar. AJ: Mammootty, has once again agreed to earmark his dates for another newcomer. This time, Shake, an assistant to Shaji Kailas gets the dates of Mammootty for a bilingual to be made simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam. The movie to be produced by J J Good Films will kick off it shoot from the mid of June. AJ: Reliance Entertainments is venturing into Malayalam with the proud

Mayavi-II in the making

Director Shafi who made it a superhit with Mammotty starrer Mayavi in 2007 is coming up with a sequel of the film. Shafi's recent film 'Chocolate' also was a success. Rafi and Mecartin who scripted the first version of Mayavi will pen the story and screenplay for the second part also. P. Rajan of Vaishakha Movies who did Mayavi will produce the new film too. With Mamootty, the major cast of the Mayavi team are also expected to be there in the film.

Mammootty as Sreenarayana Guru in "Yugapurshan"

Yugapurshan which is the film based on the lives and contemporaries of Sreenarayana a guru will start its shooting by the end of March.
The film which is directed by Pandamudra fame R.Sukumaran will feature the versatile actor of malluwood and the entire south India Mamootty in the role of a legend. This will be one of the much noted characters, played by the master actor in his career.
Mohanlal and a big cast of stars will also assemble in this film to become various famous personalities of the time, on screen Sukumaran is planning to complete the film in eight months and to get it released y the sivagiri pilgrimage time in December 2008.
The movie will be funded by Medimix Anoop, which produced great hits like "Pranayakalam" in 2007
