Ashik Abu's 'Daddy Cool' will be releasing today. Mamootty and Richa Palot are doing the lead. Under the banner of Ananya films, Bose Kurian and Alwin are the producers. Sameer Thahir has wielded the camera. Anil Panachooraan, Santhosh Varma and Venu Gopal had penned the lyrics and Bijibal has scored the music. Nikitha in 'Daddy Cool'

Nikitha has been casted in 'Daddy Cool' to do the guest role instead of Padmapriya. Padma Priya has no date to spare. Her first film was 'Kaiyethum Dhoorathu' of Fazil. Next one was 'Bhargava Charitham moonaam khandam'. Another one was 'Bus conductor' She hails from Punjab. In 'Dadddy Cool' Nikitha is appearing in a song sequence. The shoot will be done at Poombaatta floor at Thammanam in Kochi this week. Mammootty and Daniel Balaji will also appear in the song sequence. Scuffle at `Daddy Cool’ set

MACTA members tried to disrupt `Daddy Cool' shoot on the second consecutive day on Sunday at Thanneermukkam, near Alappuzha, to show their protest against Mammootty and Dileep. MACTA workers who gathered at the set wanted to speak to Mammootty. The actor, however, refused to speak to them. They then started shouting slogans. Soon DYFI workers arrived there to support Mammooty. This caused a mild scuffle. But no one was hurt. Things brought under control after news came that there will be a discussion on April 23 in Thiruvananthapuram. Following the protests, Mammootty spoke to CPI leader K.E. AJ: Mammootty is playing as a cool daddy in the new film directed bydebutante Aashiq Abu titled as 'Daddy Cool'. The movie tells the story of father and his son, who loves the game of cricket more than anything. Mammootty playing profession an officer in the crime branch named, Antony Simon. Indrajith and Kalabhavan Mani are also in the cast. The film produced by Alwin Antony. Anil Panachooran, Biji Bal team will handle the music section of the movie.
