The film with Mammootty will begin after Siddique completes Dilip's film Body Guard and Mohanlal's untitled film. The talks on the film produced by Marikkar Films after Annan Thamby, are going on.Siddique's Mohanlal's film will be a Vishu release of 2009 and Mammootty's a Christmas release.

AJ: Tamil actor Prabhu, again appear in a Malayalam film in a significant role. The A K Sajan film, as yet untitled, will have another non-Malayali star. Prabhu is not quite a stranger to the Malayali viewers. He had acted in Mohanlal's film Kaalapani and in Jayaram-starrer Malayali Mamanu Vanakkom. In both the films, Prabhu has established an affinity with Kerala audience. It is learnt that Prabhu has received a couple of more Malayalam films offering him villain or police roles.

Neyyattinkara Vasudevan passes away

AJ: Leading Carnatic vocalist Neyyattinkara Vasudevan (68) passed away. He died of ill health at his house at Vazhuthacaud. He was born in 1940. He was honoured with the Kerala Sangeetha Academy Award in 1982 and Music Fellowship in 1989. Besides, he won numerous awards including that of the Kendra Sangeetha Nadaka Academy award. He studied music at the Swathi Thirunal Music College, Thiruvananthapuram. He became A-Grade staff of Akasavani. His wife is late Ammukkutty. Babu Raj and Jaya Raj, are his two sons. He has also sung in films such as Chithram, Swathi Thirunal and Vachanam.

Mammootty's ‘Parunthu' going to start

AJ: Mammootty will start shooting for his new film 'Parunthu' from the mid of this month. The pooja and recording of 'Parunthu' was held last week at white fort, Kochi. Director Blessy lighted the lamps in the function. T A Rassaq has penned a character called Parunthu Purushothaman for Mammootty in this movie. Navaneeth Kaur to do the female lead of the movie that was earlier slated for Nayantara. The movie produced by Howly Pottur in the banner of Dream Team Productions will be directed by M Padmakumar. Lakhsmi Rai and Roma will appear this movie. Alex Paul is the music director while Sankeev Shankar wields the camera. The shoot for the movie will start at Kozhikkode.

'Classmates' goes to Tamil

AJ: The Lal Jose directed blockbuster, 'Classmates' is all set to go over to Tamil. The Tamil version, titled Ninaithaale Iniykkum, will be directed by Kumaravel. The film will have in key roles Prithviraj (who was also there in Classmates), Shakthi (the son of director P.Vasu), Sreenath, Priyamani etc. Kumaravel, who had earlier assisted Kamal Haasan, is planning to start shooting for Ninaithaale Iniykkum this month.

This new Prithviraj starrer directed by Renjith will feature five songs set to music by the composer, who made plenty of hit films like 'Pavithram' in the early nineties. Sharath is giving music to a film after a gap of eight years. Rafiq Ahamed will pen the lyrics for this film.The shoot for the movie has already begun at the capital city. AJ: Mohanlal will team up with Major Ravi, his director of immensely appreciated super hit 'Keerthi Chakra'. The movie titled 'Kargil'. The movie which tells the actual story behind the spirited success of Kargil war will be shot at the real locales of the hills at Kargil, Mumbai and Delhi. AJ: AMMA', has issued a 'show cause notice against actress Meera Jasmine, for not appearing for the shoot in the specified dates for 'Twenty Twenty'. The association was forced to call off their shoots early this month, due to the non availability of the actress who was destined to do a big character opposite Dileep.
Most of the super stars in the industry believe that she has got an attitude problem which is evident from the fact that Meera readily found dates for Kamal's new film which started its shoot by April 14, ten days ahead of the days asked by AMMA. Dileep sues against an animation film
