AJ: After a long gap Priyadarshan coming back to Malayalam. He plans to direct a film in the scripts of M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The film will feature his favorite actor Mohanlal in the lead. Priyan's latest hindi film 'Bhool hulaiyya' turned big hit in bollywood. The director is now busy with his new tamil movie 'Kanchipuram'.

AJ: The 12th International Film Festival of Kerala will be held at Thiruvananthapuram from 7th –14th December, 2007. The festival will have 14 films in the competition section which is restricted to films produced or co produced in Asia, Africa & Latin America between September 2006 & August 2007. Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Naalu Pennungal and P.T.Kunjumuhammed's Paradesi are sllected for the festival. The other sections in the festival include world cinema, documentaries, short fiction, retrospectives, homage's and tributes. According to chalachithra academy, approximately 450 entries in the various sections have been received".The registration for delegates will start from the second week of November. Labels: Awards

AJ: Jishnu, one of the hero of super hit film 'Nammal' is looking for a come back. He will be playing the lead role in 'Njaan'. His new film directed by debutante Nazar Azeez. The film will be produced under the banner of Jyothi films by P.Nandakumar, the producer of 'Madhuranombarakattu'. Jishnu will be also seen in 'Kaliyodam' directed by Babu Cherthala, which will start its shooting this month end at Wagamon.

Mammootty In & As "Pazhassi Raja"
Hariharan's Magnum Opus Pazhassi Raja will be the Christmas film of Mammootty according to the latest schedules. The film which will be completed in a whooping five crore budget will hit the screens on the 25th of December. The film which is produced by Gokulam Gopalan is now being shot at Thalasserry now, but will take another eighty-five days to complete. Mammootty has allotted more than two months to complete this historical which may well become a path breaking attempt in Malluwood. The film which is made with the aids of latest technical advancements is being shot with Pan Vision camera. Ace Tamil actor Sarath Kumar also debuts into Malayalam with this film playing Edachena Kunkan, the best friend of Pazhassi Raja. The film has a very big cast including Kanika, Manoj K Jayan, Biju Menon, Thilakan, Cochin Haneefa and Kalabhavan Mani. After a long gap of 18 years, the classic trio - M.T. T.V. Chandran's 'Vilapangalkappuram' Started
AJ: National award winning director T.V. Chandran began filming his latest venture "Vilapangalku Appuram" based on the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat riots. The story revolves around Sahira, a Muslim woman who flees Gujarat soon after the riots and arrives in Kozhikode, this role is played by riyanka. Suhasini who returns to Malayalam films. The film also have Biju Menon, Thilakan, M R Gopakumar, Paraveena are playing important roles. The film produced and scripted by Aryadan Showkath.
Innocent bags Sathyan film award
AJ: Popular Malayalam actor Innocent was chosen for this year's Sathyan Film Award. The award was instituted in the memory of legendary Malayalam actor Sathyan. A three-member jury headed by film director K. Madhu chose the actor for this award.The award, which carries a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and a medallion, will be presented to Innocent here on Sathyan's 60th birth anniversary on Nov 9. AJ: After the success of latest film 'Bhool Bhulaiyya' a remake of 'Manichithrathaazhu', Priyadarshan going to remade another super hit Malayalam movie (Ishtam) in Hindi. The original which was directed by Sibi Malayil had Dileep and Navya Nair in lead roles. In the Hindi version Akshay Kumar would play the lead character, and Malayalam actor P. Sreekumar, playing the hero's father, the role played in the original by Nedumudi Venu.
Menon Back To Direction
AJ: Balachandramenon is finally back to directing films after a decade. His new film title 'Dhe Ingottu Nokkiye'. The pooja and recording of the film was held at the avenue centre at Panampilly Nagar. Menon is planning to present a few new faces, through this new film. Movie will be produced by A V A Anoop and will be distributed by Vaishakha films. Music department is handled by Bichu Thirumala and M Jayachandran.

'Raudram' Final Schedule Started

Director Renji Panikkar's 'Raudram' final schedule started. Mammootty play the role of Assistant Police commissioner, Narendran, who is a industrious, trust worthy officer. 'Raudram' which is all set to reach theatres on November 29 will have an extended third schedule which will be completed in two more weeks. The film also have Rajen P Dev, Sai Kumar, Vijaya Raghavan, Shammi Thilakan, Janardanan, Jaffer are also in important roles. The cinematography by Azhagappan, editing by Harihara Puthran and production design is first rate. The music department by Vayalar Sharath-Alex Paul team is not at their best. The film make sure you secure a seat at the earliest to enjoy this hilarious fun, which will definitely make you smile that will linger long. Moosa has a wife and children here who are Indian citizens, but Moosa himself is not considered a citizen of the country, due to some technical objections from the bureaucracy. Mohanlal portrays three stages in the life of Moosa,in his 35,60 and 80's.. Mohanlal proves once again that he is among the top in the list of the best actors in the country today. Not only does he breath life into his character but also carries on with its ethos with restraint emoting, till the end. Jagathy who appears in very few scenes steals the show with the artistry of the seasoned actor. Shwetha Menon, Padmapriya, Siddique, T.G Ravi, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Sona Nair and a couple of new comers also bring in some meaty performances, which make the characters real. Director P.T. Kunju Mohammed for a well crafted movie, though narrated in a slow pace, the intensity of the trauma undergone by those characters sink in to our hearts. All is going not so bad for D K, till Annie a medical student and Sara's half sister who is taken cared by David, is accused by the police for committing the murder of Benny, an upcoming politician and the son of political king and former Revenue Minister M.C Paul. With supportive evidences and witnesses, Police is all the way around to seize the girl who is said to have taken revenge and killed the future prospects of Malankara Congress, for having ditched one of her best friend who committed suicide following Benny's rejection! The film scripted by Renjith. The film which uses the best of the mannerisms of Mammootty will in all terms satisfy the fans of the star. `Notebook,'directed by Roshan Andrews, has won the first award instituted by Akashvani for films based on the judgment of its wide audience. Sathyan Anthikkad bags the best director award for his `Rasathandram. Mohanlal and Padmapriya were chosen as the best actor and actress award. Innocent was selected as the best character artiste and Jagathi Sreekumar the best comedian.
