Akku Akbar's Jayaram film 'Kaanaakanmani' began its shoot at Koottikkaanam. The family story is based on the happenings in the life of Roy, his wife Maya and daughter Anakha, who lives in an estate bungalow. Roy and Maya belong to different caste. Usually this was an issue for them to argue. But it was peripheral. Actually they loved each other and their daughter's intervention was enough to settle the problems regarding their fight. Jayaram dons the role of Roy and Maya as Padmapriya. K. Gireesh Kumar has penned the screen play. Mamootty's production-distribution company `Play House' will distribute the film. Gireesh Puthencherry has penned the lyrics and Syam Dharman has scored the music. Vipin Mohan wields the camera. Other casts include Biju Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Vijaya Raghavan, Suraj, Niveditha, Sukumari and others.
