Smart City Part-2
By vAmPIrE uNliMitEd on Saturday, July 21, 2007 - 06:01 am: Edit PostContinued from the thread: http://www.my-kerala.com/mb/messages/11/134.html?1185011887 The employment thing is fine and quite attractive is the fact that kerala becomes an IT industry. but the fact remains that we do not have finance.Once the all and all of such projects are provided by outside parties, that is to say the finance and once by their help we grow high up in the air, we become totally liable to the party for wotever we gained. we will then have to dance according to their tunes.that i think xplains the polititians' question you brought up. MOreover this is inviting the western and all the other cultures strange to the keralite to our land. this shall deprive us of our being, our identity. But, hang on, unemployment threatens our economy. wot should be done at this point is to develop our own ways of creating employment.wot we need for the purpose is finance. although kerala is a poor state, we do have a least a 20% minority who could invest for our well being, but do not as they are for profit and only profit. i dont see wot this prosper ppl of kerala do with so much money than invest it in their own land and prosper themselves, create a proud identity. and mind you wotever we do, we should not forget the nature, bcoz if we do,that'll be the end of it all...
By RJ, on Saturday, July 21, 2007 - 06:02 am: Edit PostIf you don't have finance, there are only two ways : foreign investment or loans !. There aren't very many options left around besides those two. Getting the rich minority to invest in country's infrastructure will be a non-starter. Rarely people invest that way. Usually people look for quick gains. I mean they'll buy a plot, sell it for a profit, buy another one and so on. Infrastructure building requires long term, sustained investment. Profits are made much later in this.
